Hi, everyone! My name is Laura Goldberg and I am a third year OD/MS student at NECO as a member of the class of 2016. For my master’s project, I work in Dr. Rucker’s lab on identifying possible causes of developmental progression of myopia. Originally from New Jersey, I graduated from Lafayette College with a double major in biology and German. During my four years at Lafayette, I was involved in research on vision-related responses of turtle eyes. This project led me to pursuing optometry at NECO. In addition, I love learning about new people and places. During my junior year, I studied abroad in Germany at the University of Würzburg, which was an amazing experience! In an increasingly global society, I like to embrace many cultures and customs. The field of optometry provides exciting opportunities to improve vision in all people, no matter where they may live. I am looking forward to sharing my journey with you!
